So, I'm pretty sure my 2012 is going to be pretty awesome. I'm going to Las Vegas in May, right after I get back from camping at Assatigue Island. I should be at Trimper's on the 20th of May. I assume the Haunted House will be open, and hopefully, some of the other rides; when do they open the back up?
Then, in July, I should be getting back up to Ocean City for another long weekend, in the safety of a comfortable hotel.
In August, my Aunt is planing a road trip, which would hit Kings Island, Adventureland in Iowa, Valleyfair, the Mall of America, Indiana Beach, Holiday World, and Waldameer. Get to ride some big bad wooden coasters, and Wacky Shack! I'll more then likely also be at Six Flags America at some point this summer with my friends, and I'm also trying to plan a Day trip to Coney Island.
And that's just the summer! Once winter and fall role around, I've got my Walt Disney World Annual Passport, a Cruise, and more waiting ahead! Can't freaking wait! I want to go ride some coasters!

Tough life, Mike. Get it in now while you are young and you have ample time.

What ride are you going to be operating at Six Flags this summer? Maybe I can stop by and say hi when I'm there.

So, the outdoor rides won't be up til memorial day? Drat! Looks like I have to wait till the summer to get in Pirate's Cove again. I assume that the Haunted House will be open on the 20th? If not, I will be devastated. Hope to get some video and pics when I'm there. May is going to get busy soon. Oh, and my computer is in need of repair, so sorry for not being on here more often. I can only get on when I'm at the Library, School, or home alone; although that can be risky with Google Chrome's screen shot feature since I'm not supposed to use my Parent's computer.

As of today all of the outdoor rides should be up. They will be open this weekend for SpringFest, and absolutely be open when you visit.

YES! ;D Depending how daring I'm feeling, maybe Canyon Blaster won't be my first loop of the year... and I haven't had a chance to explore Pirate's Cove since 2009! Totally buying a wristband now! Can't wait!
By the way, any suggestions as to what type of video lighting I would be permitted to use in the ride? I know for your 1996 video you said you used a mega flash light, but that was a while back, and I wonder what management would have to say if I took one of those in with me and accidentally shined the light on some poor sap taking a nap in the mine shaft or behind the toilet...
After testing my new HD Fuji-film Camera last year at Knoebel's Haunted House and receiving impressive, colorful results, I'm really excited to test it at Trimper's. I'm hesitant though, because I know while Knoebel's attraction is very well lit where it needs to be, I didn't have the same luck using the camera in Disneyland Paris' Phantom Manor, (Thus I didn't even try it in the Haunted Mansion at Walt Disney World; talk about a "Dark ride", I almost tripped over some pint-sized foolish mortals in the entry hall it was so dark!)
I know I've had a bit of trouble getting certain parts on camera before, so I was planing to bring a video light; however, most video lights cost upward of $30.00 or more, and with my computer still being busted, I really don't want to spend that much on lighting if I can just buy a cheap flashlight instead.

I doubt there would be any problem with your lighting, as long as it doesn't ruin the experience for riders in front of you, or behind you. They will be so busy during the summer nights they won't have time to micro manage every rider, especially those who want to film. Just be smart about it and be courteous of other rides, and the employees inside (ie, don't shine a bright light in the face of an employee who has been in the dark for two hours. It might blind him!!!)
I doubt a regular old flash light will do the job. There simply won't be enough broad reach to light up the effects, especially when going fast in the ride.

I know when I tried to film the ride in 2010 it was an *epic fail*. I used a cheapo Sony Bloggie Camera, which could capture exactly zero percent of the black-lit stunts. And even the stunts lit with halogen lighting it could barely pick up. Chances are not looking good for me to visit the HH this summer, but anything could happen! I have an HD Canon video camera that has great nightvision, though. So if, by some miracle, I make it down to OC this summer or next, I will be SURE TO BRING THE HD NIGHTVISION CAMERA and tear the ride up!
Anyway, have fun Mike! Don't feel obligated to film tons of video. (Actually, you are required to take video for those who crave it.)

The problem with my new camera picture-wise is that sometimes, it doesn't like to focus properly. The video focus however, is perfect, not to mention it picks up on all the bright colors nicely. Hopefully the videos turn out nicely. Since the ride in the back should most likely be open, expect a video of Pirates cove and Aladin's Lamp too.
RIP Mr.Stubbz...

Some stunts just mysteriously vanish from the ride. And here's another. I guess the house really is haunted. We all loved you, Mr. Stubbz.

Also, I bought a Party Hat for the bald Clown! Can't wait to get down there! Less then a week now. Plus, I haven't been camping in years! I'll let you all know about the experience in the Ocean City reviews section when I get back.

haha, hold off on the clown hat for now Mike. I think the family is planning to fix the stunt up. I'm interested to see what they come up with!
