The Haunted House's facade refurbishments are tricky to spot at first glance, but there. It looks to me as though the whole balcony fence has either been re-painted or replaced all together. They have definitely added a new coat of orange paint to the sign, and the right side's clapboard background looks to be completely new.
See Here:
As for Mr. Bat; let's just hope he manages to keep the rest of his toes for now; Poor guy : lh4.ggpht.com/_9XeuZGC9FJw/SpWyAfAxXSI/AAAAAAAABD8/sY6XrsJHOm8/s640/299.JPG

The bat is actually going away this winter for a makeover. We should have a brand new bat by next year!

That's good to know. His Tail is covered in gum, and he has duct-tape all over him...
My brother was fond of taking the gum off of the re-entry doors during each ride...I think he cleaned off the majority of the large pieces...kinda gross , but he did it...

Where did he put the gum after he scrathed it off? Did he hold it until the ride's end?

Yeah; he would put it on the bottom of a bench across from the HH apoun exiting...even I myself wasn't willing enough to scrape it off the door...I guess it was because he's just gross like that...

ABOUT THE CLAPBOARD... i believe that both of them have not been changed< i think the one that looks newer was added in 1988 when they extended the lobby

So, by now the Bat must be down and out? What exactly does a "New Bat" mean? BTW, I seem to remember the Bat as solid black (Minus the blood) at one point. Was he ever this way?

Yeah, it's in the third picture in this set: notlmpresed.angelfire.com/exteriorfacade.htmlI did zoom in and see what appears to be a streak of blood, but that could be something else. But if it is blood, there's a lot less of it than there is today.

I was just down last weekend and the Bat was still out, which is weird because they usually take him in right after Sunfest weekend. I also noticed that part of the sign in front (the wood panels behind the letters) had broken and the "T" was hanging off the building. Very strange to see. We'll see what happens.

Hopefully the front will be all fixed up soon. I can't wait to see the new bat.

The intense sunshine on a daily basis during the sunny months really takes a toll on the facade. In 2009 pictures of the facade, you can see how there is much fading in most spots, with the exeption being the area around the left hand doors. It would be difficult to keep up with all of the repainting of the wood each year, and I think the Haunted House does a good job. I hope they can get to painting the walls behind the planks they installed on the left and right sides of the balcony...it doesn't look great seeing the good job they did, but with a bare wall behind. There's also a little gap in the wood between the left hand doors and where the wood pieces go down along the right side of the doors. It isn't very noticeable, but it's a little awkward. The front looks fine; I just hope they can finish their work.

Hopefully the front will be all fixed up soon. I can't wait to see the new bat. so is the new bat gonna look like the origanal design with the sharp teeth and the wings pread out with the tail (tht is easy enough for someone to yank off) and is it gonna b made like the paper mache

It does look like they got to many of the colored pieces around the "star" area, so that's good! In recent pictures in the Updates, the shade of orange looks different between the few pictures. Is that just a different camera, or a new shade of orange?? Cool color either way!

I will try to get some updated photos of the facade asap. Not sure if any progress has been made or not.

It also looks like they got to the columns out front and possibly the ticket booth, which definitely needed some fresh paint!

Any one ever notice the skull panel above the bat? it's a little circle with a skull on it. It's to faded to see now but look at old pictures.

Yeah, if everything was freshly painted in solid colors, it just wouldn't look as old and Tracy-like.

IT. LOOKS. AWESOME.
The array of colors is very nice, and I'm so happy that they tended to the walls on the left and right of the Balcony! Looks great!

How can you say it was touched up? Every piece of wood on the front of the building has received a new coat of paint! That is a complete paint job.
