The one thing that people say about the haunted house is that it isn't that scary. One solution is to fix the sounds, The saw mill is not effective with no sound, the knit wit doesn't have any sounds, and most of the props are just silent, they need to fix that.

i'd have to agree. i'm sorry that lightning took out many of them, but they are definitely missed.

One of the sounds I miss most is perhaps the silliest. The man in the toilet who gurgles for "Help."
Also, can anyone back me up on this? I remember when the coffin comes back into the house after the ride along the second floor deck, there was a scream that said "There is no escape from the haunted house."

Your memory is correct—Years ago, there was a sound associated with the Torture Chamber that said “You will never escape the Haunted House.”

What kind of voice said that line? I don't remember riding it the first time ever when I was 7 1998.

It was the same voice that also said "watch out for the falling beam", upon riding up the mine shaft towards the barrel room. The voice kind of reminds me of the guy in the movie The Funhouse, who worked as the ticket taker and loud speaker man for the haunted house haha.

The Funhouse is one of my all-time favorite movies. What a classic!

Have you seen the movie Dark Ride? It was released last year in the "8 Nights of Horror - Horrorfest" series.

Funny thing happened this evening.... I was listening to my stereo system thing. (The system actually interferes with my Internet connection, so I can't listen to it and be on the computer at the same time.) It was storming outside, (no lighting that I knew of), and all of the sudden, the stereo lost connection and stopped working. I didn't touch it, but just wanted to see what would happen... It then loaded back up and connected again, and I continued listening to my music. Wouldn't you know, though, that the volume was extremely deflated and I had to turn it way up to hear it!! I finally turned it off then on, and the sound was back to normal! Just thought I'd share that, since Brandon's update long ago was about how he went through the ride, and many of the rooms were very quiet. Wierd!
