I've always liked the idea of a new set of doors that would separate the Torture Chamber and the Electric Chair room. I think it would even be cool to carry the Chamber's background onto the doors, possibly... Also, the Chair's sound would be a little more confined so new riders don't know what's coming. You wouldn't be able to see the Leaper as soon as you come off of the balcony, either. So what do you think - turn off the lights in the Electric Chair room, add new doors separating the spaces, or just keep the rooms the way they are? Or maybe another way to handle the spaces?

the door wont fit, because the tourchure chamber stunt is basically a room you can put anywhere

IDK; I think it would benefit the ride an extra set of doors in that area. That part of the ride is really over-crowded, and can be quite not-as-dark as it should be. The black-lights that are used on the Toxic Man manage to brighten the room completely. I think it could benefit from both upgrades.

Well, I voted for dimming the lights...but I think a set of doors would be cool for the rooms. You wouldn't be able to see the Leaper before you're supposed to, and the Leaper and Electric Chair's sounds would be harder to hear.

When I looked again, it seems that the wall of the Torture Chamber is directly across from the wall of the Giant Skull diorama...so the Toxic man would be perfectly fine in his currect spot if the doors were to be added. Staff could probably still hide behind the doors, though!

I think the doors might block Toxic Man where he is; but they could always scoot him over a bit; I think the doors and the dimming of the lights would be good.

Yeah, I guess they would have to move him a little...maybe he could become friends with the Mermaid.

Awesome! Now the Leaper and the Electric Chair will be more of a surprise (that is, if they are both still in their same locations....)! I think this division of the space will make the Torture Chamber really stand out and center the rider's attention on it.
When one would enter the balcony on a busy evening, they might see a car activating the Leaper up ahead. This should solve that dilemma!
I'm excited to see these bang doors in action!

This season is really going to be crazy with what the hhmanagement's been planning. The bang doors, new stunts, old new stunts, and things moved around!

I like the positioning of that skeleton. The rock backdrop seems to fit perfectly with the Torture Chamber!
Now I'm curious to see what's been happening over at our friend, the Vampiress', diorama!

The mermaid space is still up in the air. The vampiress might very well end up back there. The mermaid frankly doesn't look good and we think it needs to be retired. Still thinking it over.

Let me back up. We removed the vampiress from the space and moved the mermaid back in hopes that we could bring it back for nostalgic reasons. But she is very beat up. I'll keep you updated.

Do you have any photos now that this news is public? I wanna see her in her old location in case she isn't there when I come in May.

I too would love to see the Leaper lit up properly. When I've ridden the HH, I never even knew it was there apart from the sound. I am also hoping we're talking about the same stunt. Not the mummy leaper that was at on the 2nd floor but an old Tracey stunt on the left of the ride.

No! Leave her there! She looks Awesome! Just needs a little TLC, a new wig, and a hand! Keep the mermaid there!

NO! Don't leave her there! Haha, I think it's time for the Mermaid to retire to Mermaid Heaven. I'm sorry, but she is just too worn out and I fear her demise/heavy vandalism will be all too swift if they put her there (unless, of course, HH management installs a gleaming camera and fluorescent sign next to the Mermaid that would read, "touch this prop and die!").
Also, I think the lighting for the Leaper is a little off. The black light (which actually seems very bright as Mike has said) doesn't really showcase the stunt. I'm thinking a quick strobe light installation could modernize the Leaper and make it appear like it is going to strike the coffin car head-on! Toxic Man would then have to be moved elsewhere in the ride, as I think the Electric Chair room should be lit with a strobe light and the Electric Chair's red light. Maybe the Toxic Man could be moved where the Alien Bust is? Anyway, I think a strobe will completely overhaul how creepy the Leaper could look.
But another thing concerns me. Unless the HH is willing to monitor the ride more strictly and enforce the DON'T TOUCH rule, I worry about the stunts from Phantasmagoria getting abused.

The black light that was on the Leaper is no longer there. Red lights now shine on the effect. The "Leaper Room" is now pretty much dark with only some faint red lighting.
We may have a few problems with grabbers reaching for the stunts, but that is a trade off of having one of the only rides on the coast with no chicken wire protecting the effects. If the first few weeks of the summer show a lot of abuse, we can rethink the situation and perhaps take other meaures. Mind you, the chicken wire is still on the Buzzard... we never took that off.

How about one of those "Don't Touch the Spooks" signs like at Knoebles? I want the Mermaid to stay where she is! She's far better than that horrible Rite Aid Vampire lady. All she needs is a new wig, and her hand re-attached, and some new paint. She'd be perfect. Compared to her original state in this screen cap from the 1991 video, she's doesn't look all that bad:Besides, she is right before the balcony; the cars don't spend long in that room, and she isn't exactly all that easy to reach, if you take into account that the balcony doors are directly ahead; if an empty car crosses the balcony because someone got out to vandalize a her, then the rider would surely be in trouble, because I doubt most of them know where the secret passage ways are. The shivering mummy is still more at risk then the mermaid is.

Its not scary. How about if Brandon just ships the mermaid to your house Mike? You can put it on your coffee table.

LOL. I'm sure Mike's folks would really appreciate coming home from work to find a huge demented clown lady half-naked in a seashell. Good times.

LOL, haha; yeah, I don't really have any room at the moment.
I started a new thread for the Mermaid, so we can continue about those awesome new doors here now...
I disagreeumption is that the would paint them to look as though they are part of the torture chamber diorama. Like dungeon doors. In fact, putting little windows in them would be a cool idea; So you could see the flashing lights from the electric chair, hear the screams, but not really know what exactly waits in the next room. Kinda like this window, with the bars and such:

Detailed dungeon-type doors would definitely look great compared with flat black ones, but any doors at all are awesome!

Why not have both the Vampiress AND The Mermaid in the Diorama? Theres definatley room for them to be together.
