I am curious...
We all came here because of the Haunted House; (Unless you came for Ol'Bill, which means your safe; disregard this poll) We all can say there was a point where we probably lacked knowledge of the history behind them; Of course, that doesn't mean are view on the original Tracy gags were subject to change (or not) after learning of the history behind them...
It's a pretty proven fact that approx. 39.9% or so of the public look at these stunts and aren't the least bit scared. While some of us may fall in that category, a good majority of us are in the larger portion...
And with that larger number comes the split of who appreciates them, who despises them, who vandalizes them, and who cares for them; We know the modern day mainstream are a bunch-of-no-good-punks. They can't appreciate them...
I was wondering what the gags mean to you people here on the forum. What are your thoughts? Did the history lesson change your thoughts on the ride? Are you secretly a cold-blooded Tracy-Stunt hater hoping every year to see a Scare-factory gag in the former's spot? Are you a rookie who lacks any posts; who is here to tell us all that you want the ride scary; you want JOLT's, BOLT's, CRAZY CATHY's, SPITTING SUZIE's, and VOMITING LARRY's to wipe the Tracy gags out for good?
Did OCHH.net change your view of the classic attraction? Remember that nobody can see what you vote for, so tell the truth...

Some are okay but others need to stay. It's all the empty spaces that should be filled in.

When I was a kid, there was definitely no difference to me if it was a Tracy stunt or a more contemporary stunt. They all scared me! But now, I honestly do look at SOME Tracy stunts and say, "That's a little boring." (I voted for history helped me appreciate them...) While I say this, though, I really appreciate that The Haunted House has kept these treasures alive for so many years. I think all of the Tracy stunts that are in the ride today should be kept! If you had ridden the ride and had never learned the history of the "flourescent" and other Tracy stunts, you'd probably find some of them entirely boring....for instance, the Crab, Bartender, Drunken Pirate, and Birthday Party. But if you learned where they all came from and how they are some of the last of their kind, you would find them much more intriguing. Sorry to say, but yes, I do think if this site wasn't here, and I couldn't learn about the Tracy stunts, I likely would have wanted SOME of them to be replaced with modern stunts. After learning about all of them, I positively want ALL of the ones remaining to stay until the ride's demise!! (Which will never occur.) Upside Down Room, Sawmill, Knit Wit, Witch, Swamp Ghost, Shrinking Hallway, Crooked Mine Shaft, Falling Barrels, Wave Room, Torture Chamber, Train, Last Drop, Cuckoo Clock, Rats, and the Waterfall. They are ALL excellent stunts, and with these particular stunts, I think if I hadn't learned about them, I still would have wanted them to stay!! Maybe I'll do another post where people can actually understand my view!! That was some endless ramble!

I'm surprised not many talked about "why" they voted for what they voted for!

Some tracy stunts could be improved. The train for instance, the sound and light happens when you're not even close. It should be when you're a little closer. The image of an oncoming train, the original idea, doesn't work any more. Others are part for ever. -grave yard ghost -saw mill -torture chamber -clowns
The lighting, if improved, would make the HH way better. So much stuff either has to much or to little light on it. example- spider skulls(too little) -leaping ghoul (too much)The new stunts are good but the tracy art work is part of the HH. I know every one says this but my ideas would help. Misdirection could have been used with the new stunts(either bolt or headbanger in the area across form the torture chamber.) This would scare people more. The electric chair could use sound though.

At this point, if the H.H. removes ANY original Tracy stunts, they'd better have an auction for them or something. These last remaining stunts don't deserve to go in the dumpster!!

When I was a kid back in the 60's, I remember pointing out to my dad that the "Livingston I presume" stunt in the Lost River at Hershey Park was exactly the same as the one in the Tiki ride on Fun Peir in Wildwood. I think that Dorney park had one too in their Journey ride. I remember speculating about who makes this stuff and how it must be a fun job. But that info was privy only to Park operators back then, so for a long time I just wondered about it until One day I was fooling around with Google and- God bless the interweb - there it was, the elusive answer.
I am a Tracy fan.

I voted for a distortions overhaul but not for reasons you might think....Tracy stunts are rare, they should be rebuilt and displayed behind a glass away from harm in a museum type setting where you can read about the history of dark rides and stunts...Have a button you push to see what it does or have a video showing what it did....I'd love to see a dark ride museum....It would still upset me to see some kid destroying a Distortion prop but not to the extent of one of these classics....ZR
