It's funny. I went on the ride for my first time around 2000, and I can't really remember him. However, that ride was all a big blur, as the Haunted House scared the crap out of me at when I was 7. I have seen the horrible condition that the head slinger is in, and I would love to see him return. He's the only Tracy Stunt that managed to avoid ending up in the county landfill, so he is the only one who could make a grand come-back! Let it happen!

I remember this stunt vividly, my dad pointed it out and thought it was really cool with the wire mechanism lifting the head. It would be cool to see him back in there again.

I don't know if his location is a secret or not, so I can't say anything. But some new pics would always be great. Wonder how he held up during the storms...

I always thought the headslinger was a very interesting prop. If he was put back into the ride, it would make my first ride an even better experience. HEAD-SLING-ER!!!!!

What condition is the Headslinger in? I definitely want him back in the ride, but where?

I fully support this. I never saw the headslinger. From what I saw of the photos Brandon posted, the headslinger needs to be completely rebuilt. Seemed like it's nothing more than some rotting fabric on the ground now. It would be great to see it back in action, from posted videos, it would definately scare some folks. If this does happen however, some steps will need to be taken to keep the low lifes from trashing it again.

I agree flagger. Because of its huge size, it will need to go on the second story, or down by the Old Mill. Otherwise, the ceiling space will be too low elsewhere.

I don't know about the Trolls. The area might work, but as it's been said before, you go way to fast through that area to really appreciate anything.

So what is in place to make this happen besides wishful thinking?.....Does management even have any interest in this?.....Here's my idea..... #1 Talk to management to see if this is even an option....If they aren't on board then it's a total waste of time even talking about it.....If they are then go to: #2 Talk to whoever rebuilt the bat....They obviously understand the intended result and they are good at what they do.....Find out an approximate $$$ figure it's going to cost....and finally: #3 Set up a fund we can donate to via Paypal with a meter that shows how close we are to our goal....Understanding the money you donate may not in fact go to refurbing the headslinger if the goal isn't met (I'm fairly sure it would be though)....I'm sure the money could go to a good cause if in fact the goal isn't met.....
That's probably the only way this would ever materialize....Management would be more open to it if they didn't have to foot the bill or at least the whole bill....I'd donate a 10 or 20 to the project anyway.....ZR

It seemed 50/50 from the managment last October, but Brandon would know more on that since he knows them better.
If they bring him back, Scotty said they would need a full time mechanic on site just to reset it for the next car. It sounded to me like the original was very problematic.
Of course, maybe the effect could be achived diffrently this time around...

I've been through the HH when this prop was in place but I honestly don't remember it....I'm guessing the head moves in the motion of your avatar and it was on a line right?.....I'm 100% positive it could be automated...I have a 4 foot air cylinder that I'm sure could be used with a line / pulley system that would do the job....Cylinder expanding would let tension off cable letting it come down....Contracting would pull it back to home position....You would have to experiment with how to keep the head positioned right...First way that pops into my mind would be to have a small magnet on the head and one on the neck that's close enough but not touching that would hold it in place until released....Where there's a will....It really comes down to the question of whether anyone wants to put in the time/money....

I don't know if it every had a magnet, but that would plus it. That is how it worked in every detail beyond the magnet though. I'm all for the effort, but the staff is the one who has to deal with the assclowns who ride it and pull the stuff apart on a regular basis.

That's why I'd love to hit a BIG lottery and start a dark ride "museum" of sorts....Think Planet Hollywood-Hard Rock-Ripley's museum only with dark ride theme....Have some of the old stunts behind glass that patrons could read about on the wall and press a button to see it in action....Have the break down of dark ride cars, etc....Of course there would be a Joe Corbi's Pizza court complete with a Showbiz Pizza/Chuckie Cheese museum and maybe even a show....Ahh what lot's of money could do.....ZR

what I'd really like to see is a different way of mechanising the head slinger - instead of the zipline we can have a groove in the ceiling that the skull hangs below - when your car triggers the ride the head slinger slides down the groove till it trips a switch that sends it back to the top of the groove - much better maintenance wise and you could enclose the whole head in a plexiglass box - that way there will be no more vandals pinching it!
