in the mid-east Amusement park region (MD,PA,NJ,VA) there are new sweet roller coaster additions coming to a few parks
At Six Flags America in, about 15 miles east of D.C, the new B&M stand-up coaster called "Apocalypse" will be taking the area of the previous lame Skull Island water ride. this will be the parks first B&M coaster, but honestly its not that good for the parks only B&M coaster. A suspended or floorless coaster would be allot better than a standup coaster. by the looks of the simulation I would still rather go on Superman or the Batwing any day of the week
Hershey Park has just finished there constuction of "Skyrush" a 200 foot tall coaster with a fast lift hill up to 15 feet per second. This is the tallest Coaster in Hershey and will hopefully give allot of air time which will be a change for Hershey. Hershey has been so fan friendly in the sense that they frequently updated their facebook page as construction went along. www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150659090604357&set=a.165822924356.118364.16994689356&type=3&theater looks like a fun ride, but Hershey needs to stop making family friendly rides, a bit more faster and more inversions would make my day.
And last but not least is what soon should be the coaster of the year, not much publicity on it but from what I am hearing it would be like The Rock n Rollercoaster at Hollywood studios on Crack. it has 2 launches and is over a mile of track. It is "VERBOLTEN!" at Busch Gardens VA. It also has a little reminiscent of the Big Bad Wolf (RIP) that shares the same location of the drop, this one said to be 20 feet steeper 2.bp.blogspot.com/-Xk8Qr7ltGso/TvzS_w0GGSI/AAAAAAAAQKQ/iCmE8lh6qwE/s1600/VerboltenDropComparison.jpg[/img]
If you are interested i suggest to check out there youtube page www.youtube.com/user/BuschGardensVA
All 3 of these are scheduled to be released on Memorial day of this year, which ones are you going on this year or ant to go on. For me I am really excited for Verbolten because of the fact that its the first of its kind. but i could really care less for Apocalypse
