There is a rumor that there will soon be a plaque made by the park's artist that will go on the front of the HH some place that states facts like what it is, how long the ride is, when it was built, who built it, etc.
I can only pray they get the correct year right on the plaque.
Despite my research and proof documentation that the ride was built in 1964, Scott still thinks it was built it in 1962, which simply isn't true. Regardless, you can't argue with evidence!
Stay tuned.

What is that white Casper-looking ghost that's on the Ticket Booth in one of the pictures in the new article?
Well, I guess the best place for such a plaque would be on one of the columns on the front where everyone waits to ride. They should put 1962 just to make it be as old as it can possibly be!

Casper has been there for a year or two now at least. He lets the little kiddies know how tall you have to be to ride alone. He fits in nicely with all the characters painted through-out Trimpers.

It's funny; I was just thinking; in the management's eyes, this season was the 50th. Perhaps that's why they went all out this year?

Apparently you can only be 42 inches tall to ride...I guess that eliminates me immediately. It seems like the ride still gets a LOT of customers, so much of the OC boardwalk patrons must be exactly 42 inches tall.
When can a building (or ride, for that matter) be declared a national historic landmark? I think the Haunted House is very close to that honor!

The new plaque is now out and at the HH. It is hanging on the fence in the lobby, and looks great! I'll try to have a pic that I took up shortly.

Here's a picture of the new plaque; looks like they're taking the 1964 date as official now; it's even on the back of their new shirts! They also re-painted the "You Must be this tall" sign with a new design with the bat on it.
Nice meeting you yesterday hhfanatic. Always nice to put faces with names.Attachments:

I saw them looking for a place to hang the plaque before the breakdown on Friday. Looks like they decided on a good place, I think it's location is excellent.
