Not sure how I feel about this... what has become of the giant Arabian guy anyhow?
This is a huge surprise, and I'm not sure I can say that I like it. It just looks so weird...
And as for the Ferris Wheel, well, I'm glad I did it one last time last year.

Oh man. That does suck, its strange now. I mean I know the beginning was just a small maze, but I always thought it was cool, dark, and the facade was cool looking. I mean I really wonder what this new ride is going to be tho. Something like a thrill ride? Or a customized ride?

I was pretty floored when I heard of this. It has always been one of my favorite funhouses, and one of the coolest facades of all time. I almost think it would have been worth just retiring the entire attraction considering what they have done. I hope the ride doesn't require the same amount of tickets, as two-thirds of the ride is now gone!
I think the "new" attraction is a moon bounce or something like that. More to come.

Retiring half of Aladin for a frick'n moon bounce? I hope it's not just a moon bounce! That would be a huge waste!

I want to say that this is a April Fools joke or something. Why?

Here's my POV of it last year. It's sad to think this was the last season it was in it's entirety.

When I was there a few weeks ago, I heard several kids comment on how short it was when they came out the exit. They seemed very disappointed.

They took out the Maze? Shame on them! That was so cool, the maze part, it was like a second dark walk-through like Pirate's Cove. Oh well, at least you videotaped it. And if the reason for removal is some stupid "safety" reason, or the need to put a kids bounce like you said, then shame on them. Taking away half a classic funhouse to put in some stupid inflatable that might not last, that's stupid. I was in OC, MD twice, Aug 1988 and July 2000. In 1988 I only went to Jolly Roger park, rode the train that was shortened, the entrance must have been the station years ago and it ran around the front of the park, I bought a postcard showing the train at the original station, and there was a walk-through haunted house there then, I went through it. Now there's a ride through called Nightmare Castle. I rode it in 2000. I also went to Trimper's in 2000 and went through the HH multiple times, and Pirate's Cove, and the Aladdin funhouse. In 1988 we drove by Trimper's at night, but didn't stop. In early 1980's and mid-late 90's we also went to Wildwood, NJ which also had Bill Tracy classics like Crazy House at Fun Pier and Whacky Shack at Hunt's Pier, both gone now. Crazy House burned with Lost World dark ride Nov. 24, 1984, and Whacky Shack was closed 1995, and removed early 1996 during the remodeling into Dinosaur Beach, which lasted three years.

Okay, so after I visited this week, I can safely say it's actually not as bad as it originally sounded. They've kept all the floor traps, and the iconic spinning barrel and platform. Instead of ending with the barrel, the barrel comes mid-way through, and they've taken out the chicken exit barrel too. They also added music finally! Honestly, I though it would be a whole lot worse, but I was surprised. They did a good job condensing it down. Nearly all of the iconic scenes are still there. They just got rid of the dark "nothing" parts that took up space. Now the whole thing is impressive, instead of just parts of it. I'll have a video up later and you can compare it to the older one.
