I had the image of it in my head for SO many years...and I recently found a picture of it at my house! Someone took it of me and my family, probably in the late 80's. It's simply called "haunted house" and I remember it resided in the rear of jolly rogers. Anyone remember more about this spookhouse?

Can you please scan it and post it here? I would like to see what it looked like again. I was in it in Aug 1988. 1988-My first time to OC. July 2000-My second time to OC, haven't been back since. I rode the HH on the boardwalk first time 2000. Funny that Jolly Roger's walkthrough was also called Haunted House. Was it a Funni-Frite attraction? I forgot the name of it until now.

Here is what Jolly Roger's Haunted House walkthrough looked like. This particular house was originally placed in Six Flags Great Adventure with a different facade. When it was moved to Six Flags Over Mid America in 1979 the facade was changed. According to the article, the house was moved again in 1982. Maybe it moved to Jolly Roger?? Although there were probably others of these pre-fab haunted houses built. Either ways, this is without a doubt the very same looking facade that I remember at Jolly Roger. Original article is below........ www.greatadventurehistory.com/HauntedHouse.htm

The first house on the site reminded me in a way of Morey's Pier's original haunted house, which existed from 1972-1984 and had a gate entrance and a roof over the house entrance. Morey's tore it down and replaced it with a one level trailer haunted house which used a couple trailers and existed from 1985 or 1986 through 1992 or so. I first visited Wildwood between 1980-1983 but didn't go through any of the haunted walkthroughs then, Castle Frankenstein, Castle Dracula, or Haunted House. I returned Aug 1995, June 1996 and 1998 and went through Castle Dracula several times, as well as Dungeon boat ride. On Jan 16, 2002 two punk male teens broke in during the day and accidently burned it down with lighters that they used to see. It was never rebuilt for various reasons. The waterpark next to the castle that replaced the amusement rides in 2000, originally there was a wood coaster there from 1919-1984, now owns the entire property and the Nickels brothers left the pier by 2011. But, Morey's built Ignis Fatuus Ghost Ship in 2010, which sort of makes up for the loss of the castle, and Morbid Manor opened 2011 on Sportland Pier, with a few former Castle Dracula workers/managers from the 1980's working there, but it closed after 2012. The chance of a new Castle Dracula is probably zero.
