Using your knowledge of other classic Tracy stunts seen in other attractions—what other stunts could you see “fitting” in Trimper’s HH. And, where would you place them if you were in charge. I have PLENTY of ideas, but would like to hear what you have to say!

hi i am pierce i am12 years old. I think on the stairwell with the spider heads there should be a person walking down them but leaning forward a little to give the illusion of the person falling. Also i Think the figure should be made by hand and out of plaster of paper to blend in with the rest of the house. I hate all this mas produced non sense. This haunted house is a work of art so why are thy junking it up with all this Halloween production garbage!

I would have to agree with you, Pierce. That “papier-mâché look” is what makes the ride so distinguishable from the rest of the dark-ride world, and it seems that new stunts placed inside do not “fit” because they are not of this nature. Like you, I am a bit sick of the garbage being placed in dark rides (puking men ,etc) but, I guess I am old-fashioned. Thanks for commenting!

Interesting debate, I've thought the same things for years. I often wondered as a youngster in the HH, upon riding it for the first time every season, why they often brought in these new stunts that were much different? And furthermore, where all the dayglo paint was that they are supposed to be covered in ;D It's probably way out of the question for them to consider having someone construct similar stunts, but then again that's probably for the best, as they just wouldn't have the same nostalgic value and feel of the existing ones. Let's just cross our fingers that no more get trashed!

I think my biggest disappointment with the current HH is the dayglo paint job you encounter when you re-enter the HH after making the trip outside on the balcony. I think there's a badly drawn sun and moon, and some other imagery that looks like old hippie artwork from the 1970s that, even being very stoned, would not be particularly enjoyable to look at. This was certainly NOT there when I was a kid in the late 60s. When I rode the HH for the first time in 35 years, in 2006, I immediately noticed this paint job and was both confused and annoyed at it being there.
I agree that the older, original effects are far more preferable than any new. I remember a few from the 60s that are no longer there - a Dracula figure, and maybe a Frankenstein as well? I wish I had taken pictures at that time! What is still there that I remember from the late 60s are the two mine shafts, the spinning tunnel, the moving bat on the ceiling, the RR, and the waterfall at the end.
Oh - and I think the saw mill and the torture room were there, as well.

Agreed, that sun painting or whatever is pretty bad. Before the park artist touched up that panel and created a sun, it was painted with a graffiti-like image. See below: It was weird, and still is. I don't know where the panel came from, or how it ended up like it is.

Hy it is pierce again. I am now a member!!!! I also noticed many of the stunts are painted with spray paint. The park artist should also re-do he wave room waves with a new design maybe a cool blue and green more wave like picture. What ever is up there now is ho hun and also I think the swamp gost should be in that room ALSO! I think the haunted house needs the stunts upstairs to be in there own dioramas like the torture chamber using the gost ship backdrops. I think it would make the ride look a lot more safe and more neat and they would flow better together.

That, in a way, reminds me of the Knit Wit (In the way that it looks innocent at first...)
It probably would need a crackling fire sound and (if it doesnt have it already) lights coming up from the base. And, before the bricks go up, a "help" or a scream.

Would it have room across from the torture chamber?

I was thinking the best spot is where the witch before going outside is. I hate that witch (it just sits there. I like moving stunts alot. even have its arm propped up would make it better, it just looks like the open it out of the crate and hung it up.) Though the lunging monster and that stunt would not work well together...
You probably would want to cover it in Dayglo paint also...

The Vampire lady looks like something you'd buy at a local drug store for $10 for Halloween to hand from a Tree. Was it ever explained how that piece of junk came to replace the mermaid? Was the Mermaid broken or something? What Happened?

Good question! And is there a particular reason why her arms have never been positioned straight out, or in some menacing way?!?
She almost looks like she has to pee, and is holding it with her hands!

A double door should be added after the upside down room. Then, that entire area from then to the shrinking hallway could be converted into a cemetery. There are plenty of props available at spirit that could help and the saw mill would fit. Knit wit could be moved up to where the shaking mummy is and another jumping ghost added there. This one would have a hood on, sitting in the dark corner only to emerge with a flash of light but no sound. This would extremely enhance the grave yard feeling if these suggestions were used. Also, the shrinking hall way could be redone to give the effect of a long drive way back to the house itself. What do you think?
