so, how hasn't thought up some crazy gags of their own? i have a bunch. here's one to start that'll probably never come to fruition...
near the end of a ride area, just before the crash doors... an area off to the side is obscured by a dark panel. from behind it, as the car is still 6-8 feet away, a light goes on and mangled body (a murder victim, perhaps) falls into the car path and an audible is sounded, of a distressing scream. as the car nears the body, the light goes out and the car is left in pitch black. the prop is de-energized and is pulled (by spring) back into the stand-by position. speedbumps are installed in the wheel path and, while in the dark of night, the car feels as if it is "running over" the body. pretty grizzley and sort of funny at the same time.
The "Big Problem" and why this will never be done is that if the spring breaks or for some other reason the body does NOT return to its home position, the car will collide with it and destoy it and maybe get stuck as well. but it'd sure be memorable if it could be engineered in a fool-proof way.

That does sound interesting… The safety mech would be crucial. I do really like stunts with actual figures—But, I also am crazy about stunts that use the physical room to pull it off—Like, in a dark ride, if you were to create a long corridor and build the walls and ceiling in such a way that they mechanically come toward to car in all directions to make it seem like you were going to get squashed. At the first part of this, you could have the room well-lit—The walls would be decorated with old wallpaper, pictures of old ancestors, old wall lamps or candles. The wall straight ahead may be a fireplace with a mural or old tapestry hanging over it. If the corridor had a ride time of say 12 seconds, the first 5 could be lit so the customers can see the walls and ceiling actually starting to move. Then, the lights would go out leaving them to only wonder if they will make it out. Physical room distortion is one of my favorite aspects. Tracy, more primitively, accomplished this with a crooked beam room or spinning tunnel. Another example is like at Disney’s Haunted Mansion in the first room. I also really like floor platforms to make the car lean. Or, in Trimper's case--Railroad tracks. Chuguchugu-Choo Choo!

Great ideas here. I was thinking of having, in a room with a straight track; a wall at the end full of protruding, bloody spikes, with a body or bodie(s) of former "riders" impaled on them. And the car speeds up a bit and heads right for them. And then, darkness. YIKES!

i think in the upside down room their should be a light handing from the floor aka top of room. I do not think there is enough light in the room. Also maybe a giant clam replacing the mummy that replaces the crab. Maybe the mummy can go in a different spot. It just clashes with the nautical tracy backdrops.

If I had an idea of a stunt, i would put the Tracy "Truck stunt"( view picture here; www.laffinthedark.com/articles/funland/vt040.htm)this stunt's light turns on and horn beebs when the car passes by.(kindof like the train) I would put it where the Coo-coo clock would be

I could list thousands of ideas! I have been creating my own desing for a Darkride of my own. I decided I could reproduce new versions of tracy stunts while making some of my own. I have a whole notebook full of concept drawings that I take to school with me everyday to work on. (when ever I get a chance) I always had an idea about a hallway, where you would continue to go through doors ,like the amazing tracy ones in the HH. Each door would be painted to look like an actual door, but with a diffrent desing. Riders would asume that the next door they would go trough would look like adoor. But the last door is painted to look like a solid brick wall! It would easily catch the riders of gaurd!I can think of even more!
Mabey one of the blank doors in the HH can be replaced with this idea:The door would be a mirror. To make the stunt work, the HH cars would have to turn a corner to see it and surprise them into thinking they are about to colide with another HH car! To keep the glass from breakin, because the door would be the mirror, mabey it could be covered in a thick transparent case of durable plastic or somthing. You got to admit, that idea would be awsome!
