I agree that they should stay true to the tracy theme, but at the same time throw a few scares in there to change it up on folks. Like let's say you had a costume that appeared like an old tracy prop then moved towards ppl after they have let their guard down... or have and actor in the barrel room. have him act like he is tearing up a body then have him look towards the patrons then move fast towards them. by then the light turns off now everyone in the cart is scared because they have no idea where he went ... I think there are ways to stay true to tracy and keep the vintage feel with a few updates we have gotten a huge response out of the laser hallways. if you turn the laser completely horizontal and turn the clipping off, add fog you get his bizaar water effect. just out line the room in plexi mirror about 3 feet of the ground. here is you tube clip of the same idea just in a vortex style and the lasers are not too expensive. I think this would fit tracy's theme very well www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uZfa9UdFyU&feature=related

Id be VERY leary of using anything from Scarefactory in a darkride Sure, it looks cool but thats about where it ends.......Their stuff is not built very rugged and has known to break after a few activations....Go over to the Hauntworld.com site and ask over there! YOu will get an earful! Distortions things on the other hand are buildvery well and durable! You cant got wrokg there....Also, the prices being quoted on here are RETAIL prices. The amusement parks would certainly quaify for the wholesale pricing...
I would love to see someone bring back the Tracy Knitwit!

Y'know, if you can find an old piano somewhere you can rig up a bucky skeleton from the skeleton store (about $200) and a windshield wiper motor to make the skeleton look like it is playing the piano. Add an MP3 player and a switch and you have your piano player or organist.
Scare Factory used to offer everything they make in florescent paint as an option. Maybe they still do?
Live actors are always a deterrent to vandal types.
In fact, if you can wait until after October, I will be happy to build any creature you want, Tracy style, for a very reasonable fee.
