Pirate's Cove AKA Pirate's Ghetto as I now like to call it, has suffered a large amount of vandalism in the form of...GrAFitTilh3.ggpht.com/_9XeuZGC9FJw/Spn6I7TesaI/AAAAAAAABNo/Hm2cJPVYmPQ/s640/374.JPGlh6.ggpht.com/_9XeuZGC9FJw/Spn6IuCeEwI/AAAAAAAABNk/blZFOatmBkw/s640/375.JPGlh6.ggpht.com/_9XeuZGC9FJw/Spn3Qsjaw2I/AAAAAAAABNA/QZtaaxRHmsU/s640/367.JPGlh5.ggpht.com/_9XeuZGC9FJw/Spn3Q5LwMSI/AAAAAAAABNE/_OcCmb9-c7g/s640/366.JPG It seems that the only place worth instating such policies as security checks after 9/11 has ditched this ideal , and instead of checking rider's pockets for markers and pens, they would rather just make sure that there feet are safely secure in full cover shoes...
Heck, what am I saying? They don't really enforce that rule all to well...let me explain:

I think that Trimper's should seriously consider adding a strict pocket stop policy; you could have little cubbies, and have the riders empty there pockets before heading in, so Pens and Markers wouldn't be a problem. Pirate's rarely even has a true word-for-word line so to speak, so it wouldn't really be much of a problem-causer, would it? I really think that they should try to put a stopper on the vandalism; weather they use my "Pocket Stop" idea, or anything worth trying! Just stop it before you need to consider listing contributing artists bellow Bill Tracy! The ride is gonna be covered in that crap by the next 10 years (considering the amount that festered during my 8 year absence fom Pirate's (A bit shorter then HH's 10 years-yeah, I know; should be ashamed of myself ) how much more will show up in 10 more?)

Yeah, that is bad. Waldameer's only has a few things written in marker in the arch hallway, and the Whacky Shack has signatures all over the side of it. But even that's okay, because people are waiting and waiting, I don't contribute to the wall, but people pass time by doing that. But in the ride, I don't so see why they do it. I don't get it. I would imagine that the operator would be mad at the people jam, since you have to stop to write . Does the operator at Trimper's only allow a few people in at a time? Because over here they don't even want people to bring cameras in the ride, because they slow down the ride. When it's rushed, people would have less time to write blabber all over the place.

I was wondering why that trimpers didn't have a no markers or pens rule posted out side aladin's lamp and pirates cove. the graffiti situation in aladin's lamp is a lot worse than pirates cove. I see markings like this all the time on wooden que lines at Hershey park and Dorney park. they usually just say peoples names, but some are swear words and and other disgusting stuff. I think a ban on markers and pens inside ALL the fun houses in timpers should be in effect.(including the pirate ship and raiders)

What, are all the "ghetto" people from DC, Balt. Wilmington and Philly going to OC now or what? This is really bad. To see Tracy's masterpiece markered up with that rubbish is disgusting. Especially on the mine shafts, it looks like NYC ghetto. I hope they can match the paint colors and paint over that trash. Future offenders should be banned from the park for the day, and if caught again ARRESTED and taken to the local slammer, clink, whatever you want to call it.

Don't they have cameras and employees monitoring Pirate's like they do for the Haunted House? That would solve the problem.

The problem has occurred in the Crooked timbers in the HH too, somehow...

Apparently the Pirate's Cove is the 'Make out' hot spot? The problem with painting over it is it will make it stand out, thats what sucks. That is original from Bill or his workers himself that painted that stuff.

I'm confuzzeled on how in the hell that many people manage to do stupid crap like this. One reason I am avoiding senior Week. If I'm in the crowd that screws up; I just as screwed.

I can certainly understand how PC is a good make out zone, and that's fine as it doesn't mean destroying property (hopefully...) PK is right, covering it up makes it stand out more. You'd almost have to prime and repaint EVERYTHING completely to make it look normal again. It's a bummer either way.

For as long as I can remember, around 1994-1995, that crap has been going on. Graffiti and people's names scribbled all over in PC, so things probably won't change that much (unfortunately) if they haven't by now. The camera idea is a good one, and maybe several coats of paint would fix it up and cover the crud up good?
I just always thought to myself, even as a kid, that all that junk takes away sort of from the atmosphere of the ride. No doubt that it's just a bunch of kids or college kids who don't even care that the ride is a Tracy classic, and just want to mess with something for the sake of messing with something. Sad but hopefully a change will prompt less vandalism in the future.

I know there is a temptation among people to leave something behind to show that they were there, but they just fail to see the disrespect. It really pisses me off. People need to learn "TAKE ONLY MEMORIES, LEAVE ONLY FOOTPRINTS"

It really does destroy the atmosphere in the Crooked Mine Shaft with the junk all over the beams. I think I remember that there is the same initial on most timbers on the right. It's just terrible. When employees sit at the bottom of the hill, do they even watch what's going on in the car while it slowly goes up the hill? Hopefully. I would love for them to catch one of those idiots, make them pay for repairs, and feature the story on the news!
I guess some people just want their mark left on the ride for decades...and it will work, but I can't stand it.
