One of the main things I've always loved about the HH was the nautical/pirate theme that was incorporated into it after the 1988 addition, but as the years have gone by, that seems to be a theme that is slowly, and sadly, being phased out. Even though I highly doubt it is an intentional move, the fact that it's happening is undeniable.
Over the years we've lost the crab, the drunken pirate, the bartender, and wine cellar, and the mermaid was moved from it's original spot and given a "makeover" with that crazy dread lock looking wig! I just wanted to point this out and see what all the forum members' thoughts were on the matter. Hopefully the HH will remain unchanged in the years and keep the oldies that are left in there!

ikr, on tht part of the second floor, they still have this pirate ship theme, noww its been changed to the "dark" feeling, like the moving coffin (in my opinion is better than the pirate) and tht stupid giant skull and shaking mummy. i mean its OCEAN city

I agree Mike the nautical theme really struck a chord with me. It was a perfect attraction near the shore for a giant crab and the like. The entire feel of the ride has changed in recent years. Extreme let-down.

I think with the help of volunteers and their employees, they could make tracy-inspired paper mache nautical stunts pretty easily and cheaply. Paper mache is dirtcheap and you can make it out of water, flour, and newspaper. Everything else like paint and chickenwire can be purchased easily. Lets bring the "ocean" back to "Ocean City's Haunted House"

nickanap, I think you just pulled the thoughts right out of my head! I was pondering the exact same thing, you're right, it would be so simple and inexpensive to piece together some "replacements" for the old stunts we love and miss dearly. Now if only someone could convince management to roll with the idea!...

The crab was probably my favorite. It was actually a funny kind of stunt, how it rose up then simply went back down. Some of the pictures of the crab in its review show some major abuse...
