On more recent videos of the Haunted House, I notice that on the final hill immediately after a visit from the 2nd rat, the car is now slowed down much more than I think it used to be. In the 1996 video of the ride, the car seems to fly down the hill toward the cuckoo clock without slowing at all. Also, in Jonbrak's video of the Haunted House, there still is no braking on that part of the downhill--their car goes flying, and he says some peculiar things... In most 2009 videos, it appears they've now added brakes to the area in front of Count Dracula, and right before the clock. That was probably the most fun and fast part of the ride! Anyone know why they've done this?

Well, I for one learned first hand that taking 50 rides in one day can do much more damage to the back and not a very nice person then the Coney Island Cyclone can. That being said, maybe I shouldn't have ridden it so many times. But I do still believe that the addition of seat cushions wouldn't be a bad idea.
That part of the ride is quite fast. But a good majority of the ride is bumpy. Its almost like a roller coaster sometimes...

Do you know if/why they added brakes to the Count Dracula and Cuckoo Clock area?

As far as I hear, Brakes come in the form of a few blocks of friction wood, and Kitty litter. They wear out over time and need to be replaced, so the put the cat litter all over the floor, and it causes friction on the tires...
