How cool would it be if Trimper's obtained the proper zoning and bought the property to span a wooden coaster several blocks, from the main park north. They could demolish the inlet village and inlet lodge, and use that property as perhaps a turnaround area. The coaster could then cross the street. This would only be possible if the Tidal Wave were removed, but still really interesting to think about.
Imagine the view from the coaster out to the inlet and ocean, and then looking north uptown. Wow.

I would love to see it happen one day; In fact, maybe I can create a few renderings/Designs for the fun of it. No Limits and Google Earth are gonna put this concept into shape.

I will have a video up today or tomorrow so you can experience this design; I used No Limits and created a few designs that would meet the space requirements Brandon had mentioned. I managed to save a good majority of the inlet village though; In fact, if the would be able to move the one building down the lot, nothing would be lost.
The Image shows the rendering of the overhead design on a Google maps layout of Trimpers; the colored lines you see indicate one of the following;- Boarders that are intact but are not visible due to my lousy cropping Job; The Side Walks; Boardwalk; Roads and such.
[/li][li]Location where an overhead bridge would cross the main drag of road outside the main ride lot; most of the ride is on the other lot. [/li][li]The Building that is in the way of part of the ride [/li][li]The Position it could be slided to to avoid being demolished [/li][/ul] The Ride has the G.C.I. Millennium Flyers in the rendering; however, I believe Gravity Group could produce the same track with the same turns and still work; But you'll see once I post the video. Attachments:

Hm, but how tall will the coaster be, and how thrilling?

How long would it be? It seems there isn't too much room to work with at Trimper's.

What is that white building anyway, isn't it Trimper's rebuilt hotel from the 1900's? That would be an interesting for them to move the whole building. Idk I would miss the Tidal Wave, it just fit there with everything but a wooden coaster who knows? Maybe it will attract more attention from the amusement industry.

We all know rct3 is better than No limits. That was a lot longer than I expected actually.

I would love to see a wooden coaster at OC as long as it has a drop of over 90 feet.

Posted by plokoon111 on Today at 6:18pm We all know rct3 is better than No limits... Haha... Yeah, and we all know Jolly Rogers is better than Trimpers... JK, anyway; yeah the ride is long; I made sure that it wasn't gonna be just an out an back; though even I wouldn't mind one over the old Tidal Wave; but yeah, I tried to pack as much as possibly in one area while remembering what was gonna actual be under the ride land wise; Under the Lift and the last tunnel is the road that goes past the mirror maze and the entrance to the main lot.
The ride stands 89 feet according to the scale in No Limits (Which should be accurate considering Gravity Group actually uses No Limits to make their rides)
It's got a lot of air time too.
What do you all think? The tunnel at the very end is for crossing the road; The ride's supports would be cleared out and a bridge structure would hold it up above the main drag. Basically it would take up a majority of the room in the 2nd ride lot. So they still could fit some flat rides in there too. The only problem is that building. If it could be slid off to the other side of the lot; Or I could modify the turn at that end to climb above it, and the turn bellow could be tighten...

Looks cool.
I like The Tidal Wave, though. Maybe it could weave in and out of Tidal Wave?

If I re-route it; possibly; I can only do so much with No Limits; If I can learn to import 3D models, then we might just get a look at what I could try; I'm not sure how sturdy the roofs of the buildings along the main drag are; but lets say I built it on top of the buildings, including the Haunted House; That would really change the skyline wouldn't it
Wouldn't that be something to see...

WOW is that the cyclone?
|
|
|
Post by mttbrilhart on Jul 6, 2010 20:55:17 GMT -5
Yes that is the cyclone; it was the only wooden coaster image I had to represent what I had in mind; not that I wouldn't like to see a Cyclone replica at Trimpers; but they would have to add all the missing parts in the other so-called clones. None of them have the two mini humps that cause boo-koo air time, and the fan turns are not banked turns, or they would be called bank turns...
Any way; just imagine that it's not the cyclone, but Trimper's new woodie; spanning the roof line of the main drag...

I haven't rose the cyclone yet. (only time I was at CI, All rides were closed except Wonder Wheel and spookarama) But so far, Knoebels twister is my favorite coaster beating the thunder bolt at kennywood. Also, look into the ravine flyer 2 at waldamere. It goes over roads also(if that could help)
