It opens this weekend if I'm not mistaken. 4th of July weekend! I'll be going sometime later this month! Hopefully, I can film a POV!

We plan on going this Halloween for their fall event. I'll get some video then. The ride looks amazing. I think they themed the lobby/loading station after the Golden nugget.

Finally got to ride the Black Diamond last saturday. Twice. It is worth the trip. Though The mountain facade is gone the track is nearly identical to the Gold Nugget, only real noticeable difference is that the drops have been slowed down / braked a bit more than they were before. The interior pictures online so far do not do justice to the experience, the dim lantern lighting is absolutely magical.

Brandon, I can safely say that what you infered about the facade of Knoebel's Haunted House is 100% accurate; it says that they were going for something that looked normal that would cause you to question what exactly was inside in the book that they released in 2004: Knoebel's: An Amusement Park with a Heart
It's funny you should mention not being impressed by the facade, because I always liked it for what it was. It was meant to look like a house; it's a haunted house, so it needed to look like a house; I've always liked the porch and it's wide turn-around so that the cars could go through the front doors instead of the maintenance ones directly infront of the boarding area. Knoebel's Haunted House is a scarier experience though. There's quite a bit of art in there too, but you can't appreciate it during the ride unless you come prepared and ready to take flash photos. It's a vastly different ride in comparison to Trimper's Haunted House.
I haven't been up there to see Black Diamond yet, but I'm hoping to get up there this coming Summer, and hoping to hit Waldameer maybe during the same trip. What did you think of the coasters? Which do you prefer? Twister, or Phoenix?

Went Yesterday!....The HH had lights out in the foyer so you couldn't see the portraits at all and that same lighting being out made the organ room incredibly dark....Darker than it already usually is, so the organist was almost invisible....It made the 3 stunts in the room pop more though when the light briefly came on....The rest of it was the same...Definitely a cool ride! I got to tour the Black Diamond in the DAFE tour a few years ago and this was the first time I got to ride the actual ride....I loved the ride and MY WIFE loved the ride so much, she rode it every single time I did...She usually rides once or twice in the HH and then she's done so this is saying something for a dark ride...Everything is done so well! I highly recommend a trip to see this if you haven't yet....ZR
