I think it would be cool to kick off with a highrise construction thread, of whats being built and buildings already down there.
Has anyone seen the Gateway Grand? That building is 23 stories tall, its pretty dang big compared to highrise row.

The Gateway Grand is a pretty incredible building. But because I am an old fashioned OCer, I believe all highrises should be in "the row." Back in the day, the only tall building that wasn't in the row was Dunes Manor (that light tan building that looks fake and like a model) I think that building has a lot of condos for sale, but as with many other OC buildings, they are having a tough time selling them with the downturn in our eco.

^ yeah I know what your talking about and than they built the Antigua. Believe it or not in the 17 years I've been going down I stayed around the highrise row and maybe once near the middle end of the city.
Are there any other new proposals or construction that call for highrises?

From what I heard from my grandparents, a lot of people didn't like that the complex where our condo is (El Capitan) was going to be built so high and close to that end of the boardwalk ...

Which one the one thats like 12 or 9 stories tall? I saw it last year, the style is interesting they were trying to match the old days with the roof and spire.
