I was browsing through sites today, and came across an update of the Golden Nugget ride construction at Knoebels on wiki.
This is what it says:
A steel indoor roller coaster formerly known as the Golden Nugget at Morey's Piers. The ride's track and cars were purchased by Knoebels after it was deemed unrepairable by Morey's, and was dismantled. Knoebels now waits for the completion of Flying Turns before they start the construction for Black Diamond. The ride is being planed to open on the site of the park's current Bald Eagle Habitat, which will be replaced/rebuilt in a different location. The reason for the name change to "Black Diamond" is unknown at this time. The ride has not begun construction yet, but is currently scheduled for a date not yet known.

The reason it's being called "Black Diamond" is because it's being rethemed to a coal mine ride. They only bought the track and trains they will probably be constructing a new themed building for it next to the mining museum and have new props and scenes. It is tentatively scheduled to open 2011 or 2012 I think if they can start construction next year. Morey's kept the props and scattered them in their dark rides, I think the Wildwood Historical Society might have got a few pieces.

It's not going to be next year. Flying turns still is under construction, and with the recent death of Barbra Knoebel, I doubt it debuting this coming year.

Oh well. At least it's in good hands now. Even if we have to wait five years or more for the new ride to open up at Knoebels. It's been over 10 years since it closed at Wildwood Sept. 1998 when Dinosaur Beach went extinct after 3 years.
