So, during my last two rides on Tuesday before I had to leave, I noticed that the water curtain/last drop basin (it used to also be the basin tapped by the "Body in the Cellar" and "Wine Cellar" stunts) seemed to be a bit full...
(If you look closely, you can see the bubbles (glowing red from the lighting above the exit doors) forming on the surface as the water curtain comes splashing down. See those dark streaks across the ground? That's not 'discolored-from-being-wet' pavement; that's sitting water spilling out onto the floor from the basin)
...It spilled out onto the lobby floor a bit too...
...and onto the exit walk-way a bit as well...
...and during the ride, I noticed a similar puddle forming on the floor next to the RIP Grave...
(See that dark spot on the floor by the skeleton in the tux? That's a puddle!)
(Sorry if it's a bit hard to see the water in these pics; they are a bit blurry, and sitting water on a floor like that of the HH's isn't that easy to snap photos of on a whim like I did; believe me, there was water all over the place!)
So that leads me to wonder... assuming that this proves it could possibly happen... what if the Haunted House had a flood? I mean, in some ways, a flood could be just as bad, if not worse than a fire. In terms of disasters that could destroy props and paper-mache figures...
While this was clearly only a mini flood/spill; and on a day where you could see the haze in the air, (and snap a picture of it, as seen bellow) where water and ways to cool off were to die for, what kind of things would happen if the ride ever flooded? Which areas would you assume to be most vulnerable on the first level? What kinds of damage? What kind of madness? Share your thoughts. Just though these pictures might interest everyone, and while we've covered the topic of fires before, I don't think we've ever covered flooding at all...
