I always ust to laugh at how and why there was a train tunnal in the haunted house, it didn't make sense, which made it perfect, when I was little I ust to get scared, as the train got closer and I finally figured out it was fake, and then plunged down the hills, it was a really effective stunt.

I can think of a few other dark rides where a train came at you. Mr. Toad's Wild Ride (WDW version defunct since 1998), the now-gone Gold Rusher at Kennywood. (1981-2007)

Most parks seemed to make this type of thing a fast "shock" gag --- like the versions at Knoebel's, Rehoboth and Phantasmagoria. Trimper's went for a different approach.
