I probably have stated this before, but during my yearly vacation in OC last year, I went down to the HH probably 4 or 5 out of the 7 days we were staying, and not once was the lobby's organ music in use. I was just wondering if anyone has made a trip down to the HH yet this year and is it back in action for the 2009 season?? And a few times the count was out of commission as well, any news on his recent activities is appreciated as well!

I was just down last weekend. The count was working, but barely. And, the Lobby music was turned WAY down. I used to be able to hear it blocks away! But, now it is turned down so much that you have to lean over the lobby fence to hear it. I think they may have turned it down for the gargoyle and count, even though the count is hardly working nowadays. Let's hope they turn it up soon!!!!!!

Aww that stinks, man and that was such a huge part of the whole HH experience! I'm with you on hoping it makes a return to former glorious days of being able to hear it while your walking up the boards toward it!! Maybe you can talk Scott into it even perhaps!? ;D

Why would they turn down the lobby music? Or turn it off if the ride is running? It makes no sense! The Organ music of the HH is the equivalent of the wulitzer band organ on a carousel: If the music isn't playing, the ride isn't working, or doesn't have the same feeling as it should...

I'm hoping this is just a bad mistake. I often sit on the Boardwalk within earshot of the HH because of the music. It has become as much a part of the OC / Boardwalk experience as the smell of the food or the sites. Whoever is responsibile for the music, crank it up. We don't need the Michael Jackson bit, but the organ part is just plain awesome.

I agree. We could always just download it from the site onto an ipod and listen to it with headphones while sitting on the boardwalk benches... Volume would not be an issue then.

Good Idea, but as far as I know, only 5 other people in the world besides You, Me, & Trimper's have the MP3 for it, (Mediafire Insight) So unless you know what your doing with a realplayer, your out of luck in that situation, since I'm not supossed to give it out anymore...

It really is a shame, and we need to have it blasting at all times folks, especially during those busy summer nights! It just adds so much to the whole boardwalk experience as flaggerjohn said, and something just isn't right without the organ music playing non-stop in unison with all of the other usual boardwalk sounds. The i-Pod idea is neat, but I hate to say it just wouldn't be the same! Any idea of why they have it turned down so low?
