I would love to own a piece of history (my own at least) by obtaining an original prop/stunt from a classic dark ride. Recently I've come to realize how many of my fondest childhood memories revolve around trips to the amusement park. Visiting Dorney and Wildwood as a kid and riding some of the classics is something which has really stuck with me through the years. When I read in some of the posts about props being thrown away, I couldn't believe it. What a waste! These items could have been sold to fans like us to off set the price of their replacements. One of my future goals is to obtain an original high back spinning car to be restored and used as a chair in my basement. It'd be even cooler if I could theme a whole section/corner using dark ride items. Anyway, does anybody own their own piece of History.

Just the original 1962 T from the heading as seen on the website. I have told Scott to let me know if a time comes when he throws more out, and he said he would call me. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on the Rat in the first room, just for old time’s sake. I am hoping that in the shadows of the Haunted House's demise, whenever that time comes, that one or more props ends up in the Ocean City Museum. Knit wit and the CooCoo clock would be ideal for this.

Good choices on the museum pieces. Hopefully at least one of them will make it. By the way, absolutely great job on the web site. Been checking it out since day one. Went through the Haunted House for the first time this summer and thought it was super. Nice to have your site with all it's photos, additional information, and news.

Mark, Dorney and Wildwood were my childhood places, too. I lived in Allentown my whole life, and I still live with mom. (My father passed Mar. 6, 1986) I rode Bucket O' Blood, my first dark ride, Journey, Gold Mine, Iceberg, and Golden Nugget, Pirate Ship Skua, Keystone Kops, Dante's, Crazy House, Lost World and some other funhouses at WW like the riverboat on Mariner's. All are gone except Dante's and the Nugget and all the Dorney ones are gone, the Gold Mine was finally razed fall 2005 because DP decided to get rid of the old Dorney House where the arcade was.

However, in the spirit of dark rides, Dorney has walk-through haunted houses for HalloWeekends, 3 of them one's a fun house.

I was shocked to learn that the crab had been simply trashed! Getting my hands on a prop (one day maybe?) would be such a great, nostalgic feeling of fulfillment. And it would no doubt be proudly displayed in my home! As for the OC museum, I'm thinking the rats would be a nice addition as well. It's sad to think that the haunted house may one day meet it's demise. But hopefully if that happens, we can all be left with a small piece of it.

My famliy owns a clown from an icecream stand in Rolling Green Park in Sunbury PA. The park is long gone now, but the clown still lives on. We Call him..... [glow=red,2,300]Charlie[/glow]I think it's possessed! I don't like to touch him, or go near him, but I think it's so cool to have a part of amusment park history in your grandparent's attic! (Even if the look on his eyes sugguests he could hold the spirit of satan within his 2 1/2 foot body ) I would post pictuers if could figuer out how to get them onto the fourm from my computer! I would even use him as my avatar! But for now, I'll give a discription: Charlie is about 2 1/2 feet aprox. tall, has a big evil grin, has chalk white skin, big creepy blue eyes, the size of baseballs, He wears a pin-stripe suite, made of real cloth by the way, and he used to have a bowler cap made of paper mache' like his body, but it was removable, He is sitting on a barrel of TNT spelled with the "N" backwards, He is holding an icecream cone in one hand, and his other hand is placed on his belly, rubbing it as though he is full. His tounge can go inand-out, but the gears inside have all been taken apart. My grandfather says he heard it also made a creepy laughing sound at one point. The stunt was desinged to move the hand holding the icecream cone towards his mouth, his tounge would come out and lick it, and then he would rub his belly an say "HAAAHAAAHAAAHAHA" ( Scary, isn't it how in the old days, people found it amusing enough to go buy icecream from a stand because of this clown. Nowadays charlie would probobly scare off more coustomers then attract them! Clowns are S-C-A-R-Y! !) Anyway, If anyone could inform me on how to post pictuers of charlie I'd be more then happy to!

This is.... [glow=red,2,300]CHARLIE THE CLOWN[/glow]....Scary little guy, isn't he? With the proper lighting affects, he could proboly fit right in at The HH. What do you all think of Charlie?

Sean, he's not missing his teeth in any of the pictuers. He dosn't have teeth. I think you mistaked his tounge in the first photo for his teeth. Like I said in the discription, his tounge comes out to lick the icecream cone.
