I have not seen it yet, but there was a movie called "Violets Are Blue" that took place in Ocean City. It is a love story about 2 high school kids takeing place in the 1960's, and the boys dad is an editor for The OC paper, and the girls father activates a bumper car ride at Trimpers, But all that I know, the movie wasn't good at all. and I havent found any pictures of trimpers yet, but if you find anything, please update it.

My husband and I were actually in Ocean City in 1986 when they filmed "Violets Are Blue". I remember sections of the boardwalk were closed off and certain restaurants off limits with partitions and tarps closing off everything. A lot of it was filmed on Assateague Island too, since the sub-plot involved stopping the exploitation of the wild ponies. Sissy Spacek and Kevin Kline starred. A lot of the bay was shown, and some of Trimper's rides, specifically the inside kiddie ride building (bumper cars, carousel, etc.) Yes, it was a love story concerning two people who went their separate ways after high school, but were reunited about 20 years later. They thought they could rekindle their relationship, but they were two different people, not wanting the same futures. It was a bittersweet story, I think.
